LeBron James: A Basketball Legend

LeBron James, born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio, is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, having won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career.  On 2/7/23, James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

James was a highly-touted prospect from a young age, and was dubbed "The Chosen One" by Sports Illustrated when he was just a high school sophomore. He lived up to the hype, leading St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron to three state championships and earning accolades such as Parade All-American and Gatorade National Player of the Year.

After his high school success, James was selected first overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
