When you mail an item toPowers Sports Memorabilia for an autograph signing, getting the shipping label and address correct is just as important as properly packaging the collectible.
We receive a large number of customer items for autograph signings, including jerseys, helmets, baseballs, footballs, photos, cards, bats, and other memorabilia. A clear shipping label — especially one that includes yourPowers Sports Memorabilia order number — helps us identify your package quickly when it arrives.
If you are preparing to ship an item to us for an upcoming autograph signing, here is what you need to know.
Unless your order instructions state otherwise, customer items being sent to Powers Sports Memorabilia should be shipped to:
Powers Sports Memorabilia Order # (fill in your order # here)
923 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Suite 203
Lee's Summit, MO 64064
Before shipping, always double-check the instructions associated with your particular autograph signing and order.
This is one of the most important things you can do when shipping an item to Powers Sports Memorabilia:
Include your order number on the shipping label.
Your order number helps us immediately connect the incoming package with the correct customer order.
When a package arrives with an order number clearly visible, our team can identify the shipment without first having to open the package just to determine who sent it or which signing it belongs to.
This becomes especially important when we are receiving a large number of mail-in items for upcoming autograph signings.
The easier your package is to identify, the smoother the receiving process can be.
Think about what happens when hundreds of collectibles are arriving for different athletes and autograph signings.
A box by itself does not tell us much.
It could contain:
Your order number connects that physical package to the order you placed through Powers Sports Memorabilia.
That is why we recommend making the order number easy to see on the outside shipping label.
Before purchasing your shipping label, carefully review the destination.
Make sure you have:
Powers Sports Memorabilia Order # (fill in your order # here)
923 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Suite 203
Lee's Summit, MO 64064
Pay particular attention to theSuite 203 portion of the address.
You do not want a simple address mistake to cause a delay when your item has a deadline for an upcoming autograph signing.
Autograph signings operate differently from normal online purchases because there may be a firm date when customer items must arrive.
Always verify the destination before handing your package over to the carrier.
For most customer shipments to Powers Sports Memorabilia,we recommend using UPS whenever possible.
As we discussed in our guide toinsurance and tracking when shipping sports memorabilia, we have generally found UPS tracking and transit times to be more consistent for our needs.
That consistency can be particularly valuable when shipping memorabilia for an autograph signing.
If a mail-in deadline is approaching, you need to know when your package is expected to arrive.
Regardless of the carrier you choose, always use a shipping service that provides tracking.
Your shipping label should include a trackable shipping service.
Once the package has been shipped, save your tracking number.
Tracking allows you to follow the package through the carrier's system and see when it has been delivered.
This is particularly important when sending valuable collectibles such as:
Even if the unsigned item itself is inexpensive, it is still important to know where it is while in transit.
A great shipping label does not help much if it falls off the box.
Once you have printed and attached your label, make sure it is securely attached on all four sides.
The label should sit flat against the package.
You do not want loose corners that can catch on something while the package is moving through a carrier's sorting system.
Before shipping, run your hand across the label and check all four edges.
Make sure:
It only takes a few seconds to check, but it can prevent unnecessary shipping problems.
If you are using tape to secure a shipping label, be careful not to make the barcode difficult for the carrier to scan.
The shipping address, tracking barcode, and other carrier information should remain clear and readable.
A professionally printed adhesive shipping label is ideal, but a securely attached paper label can also work when properly protected.
The goal is simple:the label needs to stay attached and remain readable throughout the entire trip.
The shipping label is only one part of preparing an autograph mail-in order.
You still need to protect the actual collectible inside the package.
Our previous guides in theShipping & Preparing Items for a Signing resource center explain how to package different types of memorabilia.
For example, cards should generally be protected with a penny sleeve and top loader or card saver, with sturdy cardboard helping prevent bending.
Jerseys should be protected inside a clean plastic bag.
Helmets without their original boxes should be carefully protected with adequate cushioning and placed inside a sturdy shipping box.
Baseballs can be placed inside a clean plastic bag before being packed.
Whatever you are sending, remember one of our simplest shipping rules:
If your package or collectible can easily be bent, crushed, or moved around, the shipping carrier can do the same thing to it.
Protect it accordingly.
Do not wait until the last possible day to ship an item for an autograph signing.
A tracking number and correct shipping label cannot guarantee that there will never be a carrier delay.
Weather, holidays, transportation issues, routing problems, and other unexpected events can affect delivery.
Mail-in autograph signings have deadlines because we need time to receive, identify, organize, and prepare customer items before the signing.
Shipping early gives everyone more time if something unexpected happens.
Before dropping off your package, take one final look.
Confirm that:
Those few checks can make the entire mail-in autograph process easier.

Mr. Powers delivered on my request for this Cal Ripken jr. autograph. It was a nice size clean and perfect signature better than I expected. Mr. Powers team is quick to respond with any concerns you may have and keeps you posted on your item. I will absolutely be getting more signatures through them to finish my collection. I highly recommend Powers Sports to anyone that has any doubts. I use to do send ins with Steiner sports until he sold, to me Powers picked up where they left off and I couldnt be happier. Thank you

Great experience! I had never gotten any autographs through a signing like this before and I had a number of questions. Someone called me right back & couldn’t have been nicer. The customer service was outstanding every step of the way & I couldn’t be happier with the Reggie Jackson autographed ticket.
