Une histoire du nouveau quart-arrière des Panthers de la Caroline, Bryce Young
Bryce Young est un jeune quarterback prometteur qui a attiré l'attention des fans de football à travers le pays. Né le 19 juillet 2002 à Pasadena, en Californie, Young a grandi dans le sud de la Californie, où il a commencé à jouer au football dès son plus jeune âge.
Young a fréquenté le lycée Mater Dei, l'un des programmes de football les plus prestigieux du pays. Pendant son séjour là-bas, il s'est rapidement fait un nom en tant que quart-arrière vedette. Au cours de sa deuxième année, il a mené l'équipe à un championnat d'État et a été nommé joueur du match. Dès sa première année, il était déjà devenu l’une des meilleures recrues du pays, suscitant l’intérêt des programmes universitaires de haut niveau.
En décembre 2019, Young a annoncé qu'il fréquenterait l'Université de l'Alabama, l'un des programmes de football universitaire les plus réussis de l'histoire. Il s’est inscrit tôt et a commencé à s’entraîner avec l’équipe au printemps 2020.
La première année de Young en Alabama a été une expérience d'apprentissage, car il était le quart-arrière suppléant de Mac Jones. Cependant, il a eu du temps de jeu lors de tâches de nettoyage et a montré des éclairs de génie. Au cours de son temps de jeu limité, Young a complété 13 des 22 passes pour 156 verges et un touché.
En 2021, Young a été nommé quart-arrière partant du Crimson Tide. Il a rapidement montré qu'il était à la hauteur, menant l'équipe à une fiche de 3-0 pour débuter la saison. Il a également montré qu'il était une menace à la fois avec ses bras et ses jambes, lançant pour 1 127 verges et 10 touchés tout en se précipitant pour 55 verges et trois touchés lors de ses quatre premiers matchs.
La performance de Young lors du quatrième match de la saison contre la Floride a été particulièrement impressionnante. Il a complété 22 des 35 passes pour 240 verges et trois touchés tout en se précipitant pour 59 verges et un autre touché. Sa performance lui a valu les honneurs du joueur offensif SEC de la semaine.
Malgré son relatif manque d'expérience, Young a déjà montré qu'il avait le talent et le sang-froid pour devenir un quart-arrière vedette. Il a établi des comparaisons avec d'anciens quarts-arrières de l'Alabama tels que Tua Tagovailoa et Jalen Hurts, qui ont tous deux joué dans la NFL.
Le succès de Young témoigne de son travail acharné et de son dévouement à son métier. Il a été félicité par ses entraîneurs et ses coéquipiers pour son éthique de travail et sa capacité à apprendre rapidement. À mesure qu’il continue de se développer en tant que quarterback, il est probable qu’il continuera à être l’un des joueurs les plus excitants du football.
Avec le choix n°1 au repêchage de la NFL 2023, les Panthers de la Caroline ont sélectionné Young dans l'espoir qu'il les mène à un Super Bowl.
