Ty Cobb personal check dated February 9 1953 signed in green ink by “Tyrus R. Cobb.” The check drawn on the First National Bank of Nevada features Ty Cobb’s preprinted name along the left front border and has been made out to “Toyon Creamery” in the amount of $10.53. Endorsed by Coffis on the reverse. Although there are many Cobb checks (he saved everything and his family made literally hundreds of checks available after his passing in exchange for a donation to the charitable Cobb Educational Foundation) they have always been considered a classic. The check (8 x 3 inches) displays standard bank cancellation stamps and perforations on front and back a small chip from the bottom left corner a few minor creases and two vertical folds (none of which runs through the Cobb signature). In Very Good condition overall. Encapsulated by JSA/SGC. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
