Matt Powers is the founder of Powers Sports Memorabilia, a U.S.-based sports memorabilia company located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Matt has been involved in the autograph hobby for many years and built his business on a foundation of collector education, trusted autograph signings, and authentic memorabilia.

Matt’s passion for sports and memorabilia began at a young age. As a lifelong fan and collector, he learned first-hand how challenging it can be to know whether an autograph is real and how to build a meaningful collection. That experience inspired him to create a company focused not just on selling items, but on helping collectors understand how autographs are authenticated, how signings work, and how to avoid common pitfalls in the hobby.

Through Powers Sports Memorabilia, Matt works directly with athletes and their representatives to organize autograph signings and help collectors obtain authentic signatures. He also produces educational content — including articles, videos, and podcasts — designed to explain the autograph process in clear, practical terms. This includes topics like how third-party authentication works, what experts look for when verifying signatures, how to care for signed items, and what questions every collector should ask before buying.

Matt believes that the best collections are built on confidence and understanding, not guesswork or marketing claims. He stays involved in the hobby by attending signings, talking with collectors, and continually learning from industry professionals. That first-hand experience allows him to provide honest, informed guidance to both new and experienced collectors.
