#1 – Tenez-vous-en à l’achat d’autographes authentifiés par la première personne. Ce que je veux dire par là, c’est acheter des autographes directement auprès des entreprises qui ont elles-mêmes procédé à la signature. Quelques bons à considérer…

Témoin JSA, PSA ou Beckett
Bien que JSA, PSA et Beckett procèdent également à l'authentification par des tiers (en donnant leur avis sur la question de savoir si un autographe dont ils n'ont pas été témoins est authentique ou non), respectez le certificat d'authenticité de témoin (COA). C'est là qu'un représentant de cette entreprise était présent pour la signature et a été témoin de la signature de votre article. Vous pouvez savoir quel COA est un certificat de témoin en lisant la carte COA qui accompagne l'article.
#2 – Achetez uniquement de petites choses, comme des photos 8x10, des mini-casques et des balles de baseball. Ce sont beaucoup plus faciles à afficher et ce sont généralement les articles les moins chers. De cette façon, si vous faites une erreur sur un article, il est plus petit et moins cher et ne fera pas aussi mal à long terme. Les maillots ont tendance à être plus chers car vous devrez les faire encadrer. Conservez-les pour les athlètes superstars une fois que vous aurez déterminé quels athlètes et équipes vous intéressent vraiment.
#3 – Ne payez pas trop cher pour le cadrage. Faites simplement le cadrage de base. Par exemple, Hobby Lobby propose des cadres entre 15 et 20 $ pour 8x10. Au fur et à mesure que vous devenez plus expérimenté en matière d'achat et que vous commencez à acquérir des pièces plus chères, vous pouvez alors passer à des encadrements sophistiqués tels que des passe-partout en daim et des plaques personnalisées.
#4 – Rangez vos objets de collection sportifs dans une pièce à température ambiante et évitez la lumière directe du soleil. Le meilleur endroit est un sous-sol sans fenêtres et à température constante. La lumière du soleil est l’ennemi des autographes sportifs, en particulier la lumière directe du soleil. Encadrez et placez toujours vos autographes derrière une vitre de protection UV. Cela contribuera à garantir la durabilité de vos objets de collection.
#5 – Trouvez un revendeur de souvenirs sportifs en qui vous avez confiance pour acheter des autographes et développer une relation avec lui. Celui qui vous apprendra le passe-temps, pas seulement vous vendra des choses. Non seulement vous vous sentirez plus à l’aise avec ce que vous achetez, mais vous deviendrez également plus instruit et prendrez les meilleures décisions pour vous. De plus, si vous avez des questions, vous savez à qui vous adresser.
