Inscriptions autographes ou pas d'inscriptions ? Telle est la question
Chaque fois que je signe un autographe, j'offre généralement aux clients la possibilité de demander à l'athlète d'écrire une inscription spéciale sur son article. Que sont les inscriptions ? Les inscriptions sont des statistiques ou des personnalisations que l'athlète écrit à côté de sa signature moyennant des frais supplémentaires. Prenez par exemple la récente signature d'Ivan Rodriguez à laquelle j'ai participé. Pudge, comme il passe parfois, a une multitude d'options d'inscription parmi lesquelles choisir. 14 x All Star, 03 WS CHAMP, 99 AL MVP, 03 NLCS MVP, 13 x Gold Glove et bien sûr HOF 17 pour sa récente intronisation au Temple de la renommée. En fonction de l'article que vous faites signer, l'une de ces inscriptions lui ajouterait une valeur considérable. Par exemple, en ajoutant HOF 17 à une balle de baseball, ou 03 WS CHAMP à une balle de baseball des World Series 2003. Mais quand ne faut-il pas obtenir d’inscriptions ? Voici quelques exemples.
1.) De manière générale, si un athlète joue encore, certaines inscriptions ne sont pas un bon choix à obtenir. Tom Brady vient de remporter son 5ème Super Bowl, cependant, l'année dernière, de nombreuses personnes lui ont fait inscrire 4 x SB CHAMP sur des objets. Évidemment, cette statistique n’est pas fausse. Essayez donc de rester à l’écart des statistiques qui pourraient potentiellement changer.
2.) Personnaliser un article tel que TO MIKE est toujours un sujet dont j'entends beaucoup parler. « Dois-je le personnaliser ? » Voici mon point de vue à ce sujet. Si jamais vous envisagez de revendre votre article en le personnalisant, cela le dévalorisera énormément. Donc, si vous pensez pouvoir faire cela un jour, je m’abstiendrai de le faire. Cependant, disons que vous êtes un ÉNORME fan d’Ivan Rodriguez. Je l'ai suivi tout au long de sa carrière. Je l'ai rencontré plusieurs fois. Certainement votre joueur préféré. Quelque chose que vous n'auriez jamais songé à vendre. Dans ce cas, vous souhaiterez peut-être obtenir quelque chose de personnalisé. "À MIKE, MERCI D'ÊTRE MON FAN N°1." Quelque chose comme ça serait super cool.
3.) Un article signé par une équipe, j'essaierais de rester à l'écart d'une inscription. Trop d’inscriptions sur un même objet ont tendance à mélanger trop étroitement les autographes. À moins bien sûr que tous les autres athlètes figurant sur l'article n'aient inscrit leur année au Temple de la renommée par exemple. Essayez de les garder cohérents si possible.
4.) Mélangez et faites correspondre les éléments et les inscriptions. Prenez Rodriguez par exemple. Il a remporté les World Series 2003 en tant que membre des Marlins. Obtenir un maillot des Texas Rangers signé et inscrit 03 WS CHAMPS n'aurait aucun sens. Essayez de rester à l'écart de cela.
